  1. It's being done as a matter of policy across all western countries that have dealings with China. China joined the WEF in 1979, BTW, and has been running it ever since.

  2.  @andybrice2711  IMO, it's obvious, because the WEF as a whole and individually praise China, and China joined the WEF back when it was the Economic Management Forum, in 1979. They flew Klaus to China where he signed a memorandum of understanding, and ever since the organization has promoted CCP interest and policies. The WEF is just a western face for the CCP, or a consultancy in the west that promotes CCP policy. This includes bringing western industry to China, which undoubtedly was the original aim of the agreement. It's thought that similar agreements were made with other groups, like Kissinger Associates. Anyway, a few years after China joined, the EMF changed its name to the WEF and began "penetrating" govt cabinets with their young leaders program.
