You have shown a remarkable lack of knowledge. Clavel wrote the book Shogun decades ago which was made into a miniseries. 8t dealt with William Smith, if i remember correctly, an Englishman who was a navigator on a Dutch ship that wrecked in Japan. He was a real man. Tokugawa used him as an advisoor and made him a Hatomoto, again ? Sp.). This seems like Disney is doing a remake.

@Le-Abdollen I'm not sure what you have shown, perhaps a lack of imagination. I am working from my memories of a book that I read decades ago and a miniseries from decades ag o as well. I heard no comment about the earlier sources or that Disney is so bankrupt of new material that it dragged up an old adventure story for a new series. I hope that it does a decent job on this but I worry considering the utter disasters of some of their recent work. By the way, some did use the correct name, Will Adams.
