  1. No one who was there in an official capacity was prevented f r of doing anything. The EMTs, themselves, when they arrived, felt too threatened to begin treatment on scene. So your belief is not fact. In a scene that could become chaotic, allowing unofficial people to become physically involved opens the door to chaos.

The prosecution may or may not have played a dirty trick, but normally their failure to release information that could have been researched.and evaluated after the defense witness was no longer available. Sounds fishy to me. More importantly, it points out the decision to charge or level of charge was not based on all the facts, and because a decision was already made data that didn't fit the prosecution's case wasn't provided.
