One the basic charges are well past the statute of limitations, and were misdemeanors even then, not felonies. The Federal government already looked into the election matters and decided no charges. Remember, former President Trump did not use election funds, that would have been a violation; he used personal funds. The other point is that the DA has to prove that if he did payoff the person to keep her quiet, the DA has to prove that the lection was the reason. Finally, the DA is alleging a Federal crime which didn't occur to even get this into court. This is malicious prosecution; because his election platform included convicting former PresidentTrump. He didn't say investigating; he said convicting. No charges existed when he said that; so, he found and made up charges, since no actual felony existed.

Until there is a verdict to appeal, if a guilty verdict is involved, the Supreme Court can do nothing. Even after a verdict, state appeals come first.

Aren't you actually talking about the DA who made up a false charge. The only offense that may be real was a misdemeanor that is past the statute of limitations.

The problem would then be the biases of the hiring official. The real problem is the lack of ethics.

@james wheeler The real joker is that Federal agencies looked at this matter and found no reason to take action. No campaign funds were used, and there are reasons other than the campaign for paying off a nuisance claim (valid or invalid). Using a known liar, convicted oof perjury and theft of client funds as a main witness is insane; but whoever said that someone suffering from. Trump Derangement Syndrome is totally sane. Given his comments during his run for DA, the DA should be disbarred and possibly prosecuted for using the power of his office to harm former President Trump and interfer in the 2024 election. At a minimum. Civil suit for malicious prosecution.

@PowerTrip1r2 Two very different cases. One involved private business/personal matters; while the Biden matter involved bribery by foreign governments including at least one hostile to the US's interests. Given that the PRC has profited and benefitted by President Biden's actions since he took office, the charges could include treason. These cases are not the same.

@mikewurlitzer5217 We can't say that, what we can say is political biases on display. He was elected and one part of his platform was convicting former President Trump despite there being no charges at the time. So we know, that he had to find/create charges ; and that is not how the justice system works unless you are in a dictatorship or a wanna be dictatorship
