This is probably been a recovery since before Friday. If you were listening, several days ago they found remains and requesting DNA for identification purposes. That will continue long after the site is cleared.

@bretwalley4673 While understand that, prolonging hope when you know the facts is cruel, to me and leads to greater unhappiness in the long run. An item released today describes the fact that one survivor was located and talked to rescuers trying to get by massive concrete slabs. They were withdrawn because of heat from the fires. The reporter had pictures of them by the slab. It wasn't stated whether the survivor had died before the withdrawal. A point that was mentioned was no heavy equipment could be used, since forceeably removing the slabs would have collapsed the building further possibly killing and injuring the rescuers and the survivor. That is the true horror of a large building collapse (regardless of cause), the inability to do anything fast enough to help. Religious leaders and grief counselors are more important than false hopes dashed later. A statement that "We will be working to account for everyone as quickly as possible." Might be a better comment. My son is certified as a search and rescue diver; the reality of that is that by the time divers are called for and arrive, it is actually search and recovery unless there are divers on duty close by.
