  1. One test had the B-36 dropping conventional bombs like the later B-52 Arc Light strikes in Vietnam. The 36 actually could have provided that type of attack. It would have been interesting to see something like that during the early years of the Vietnam conflict when it would have actually materially helped.

  2. Since these bombs had to be set to detonate, these bombs couldn't cause a nuclear blast. Later bombs were actually capable being dropped at speed and altitude without even conventional blast with the explosives was impossible since they would only burn if the fuses weren't set. Still, dropping one by accident had risks, just not nuclear explosions.
