@andrewcarlson2178 technically the Puritans were fleeing religious tolerance. As the name would suggest, puritan, they wanted to purify the Church of England. The majority of the population tired of religious conflicts had moved toward latitudeanarianism, so the Puritans headed to Massachusetts where they impose their religious fanaticism.
