A fundamental problem in the West is the belief in egalitarianism, and before anyone starts I'm not talking about inter-ethnic egalitarianism. I mean the belief in intra ethnic egalitarianism among the homogeneous majority population that feels that each member ought to have equal say in a society, because it's a democracy. Such an idea is in natural opposition to human nature, those who are taxpayers will naturally demand more of a say than those who are tax consumers, whether as government employees, contractors, or receivers of subsidies. The natural results of these demands for egalitarianism, is that you must turn the system of Taxation , aside from a system of spoils, into a means by which to reduce the income of one portion of the community to bolster the other portion of the community to Foster egalitarianism.

@AlexAlcyone human beings are herd animals, it is the process and status of civilization which creates hierarchy and differentiation among individuals. The pool toward egalitarianism is natural to human beings, hence why civilization requires constant effort and expansion to survive. Why the ancient Sumerians considered the greatest gift the gods gave Humanity to be kingship, differentiated leadership.
