@beu9245 But Turkey and Germany were aligned. Since the last Ottman siege of Vienna, name a war in which they where on opposite sides.

@mint8648 Go back and check, none of the Protestant States and many of the Catholic States, sent troops during that war. Because Protestant Saxony, which would later become Roman Catholic again, did send troops during the last Siege of Vienna.

@mint8648 once again, if the formal German states did not send troops and did not declare hostilities toward the Ottoman Empire, then that is not the United Holy Roman Empire fighting against the ottoman Turks. If individual citizens or persons volunteered to fight against them, I suppose they could have been prevented, but it does not represent the political position of the State.

@mint8648 No, the individual state did not declare war or send their official armies to fight with the Holy Roman Empire. Individual volunteering is not the same thing.
