  1. My country, Poland, joined Nato in 1999. We did not give a damn what Russia thought about it/ It was our free will and it was up to us, none of Russia's business. We knew being Russia's neighbour and being neutral is impossible in a long run. It's called national experience. We were right.

It was not Russia to decide about them above their heads anymore. Those people were free people in free countries not a ping pong ball, not a "sphere of influance".   17. If Russia had no long history of invading its neighbours, there would be no need to join Nato. Nato never attacked Russia. Russia's neighbours never attacked Russia. It's always the opposite. Joining Nato it's a choice of every independent state. Russia has nothing to say when it comes to other countries pact choices.
