  18. Ukraine is not Russia's backyard and Nato is just another excuse for Putin. He invaded Ukraine because he wants Ukraine and he does not even consider Ukraine to be "real country". If Russia does not like countries around her joining Nato, maybe Russia should really try and stop giving them good reasons to join. Ukraine had no chance to join and had no will to do so before 2014. Putin got what he wanted and invaded anyway. Why? Because he thought it would be easy to overrun. He was wrong. Russia is not even super power anymore. Get over it.
