@graveworm2 First of all it was not Russia which lost 28 million people in WWII. It was USSR, these were soviet victims, milllions of them were Ukrainians, Belarussians and so on. Russia loves taking all WWII glory when it suits Russia but at the same time Russia keeps forgetting about its history dark sides. It's USSR which invaded Poland on 17th of september 1939, it was USSR and Stalin's orders that committed geocine of Polish people in Katyn forest in 1940. Ribentrob-Molotov pact? Ring a bell? Russia loves considering itself as liberators and angels while for Eastern Europe Russia was anything but. Eastern Europeans did not ask for 50 years of communist slavery. They did not ask for being Russia's puppets. They hate Russia for a reason and have nothing to be grateful to Russia for. USSR is gone, Eastern Europe is not soviet backyard anymore, they are not Russia's buffer zone, Russia is anything but super power and West is done with Putin's paranoia and wants. West has been treating Russia like a special need baby for way too long. Eastern Eurpeans are free to decide about their fate on their own and who they want to be allied with. It's none of Russia's bussines. Deal with it.

@graveworm2 Do you know what is Russia's bigger problem? Stating that everything that used to be russian belongd to Russia for ever and ever. As far as I know Russia's neighbors have their own prime ministers, presidents and elected parlaments. And Putin is not their head of state. Nobody forced eastern Europeans to join Nato exept for their own experience with Russia's crimes on their lands over centuries. Being Warsaw pact country was not a choice. Being Russia's neighbor is a bad luck and Russia has never had any respect for its smaller neighbors. Russia pretends being super power but is anything but. Putin acts like an abusive former husband whoo can not stand his wife filed for divorce and called the police because she dd not want to be hurt anymore. Russia is weak, poor state where millions of people go to urinate behind the barn because they have no toilet at home.

@bunyip7343 I agree but they were not "soviet states" exept for Baltic countries, The rest were soviet satelite states, they have never been parts of USSR as a country. They were forced to live under soviet commands and did not ask for it.

@csuporj Russia has nothing to offer to eastern Europeans exept for wars, geocine, rapes and poverty. Eastern Europeans knew it from their own experience with Russia over centuries so they joined Nato and EU as quicly as they could instead of "mother Russia" and they were so damn right to do so. Germans were able to own up to its own crimes and mistakes to build better future and relations with their neighbors and past victims This is something Russia never does.
