  1. In the first week or so of the pandemic being made known to the public, I anticipated and accepted (to a degree) a certain knee jerk overreaction by the 'authorities'. Then came the revelation that statistics regarding deaths were being 'beefed up'. Then, of course came the restrictions which disallowed people to walk a thirty kilometre stretch of open beach and other seemingly illogical measures. I think the bit that I found most irritating was the constant bombardment of advice from people who not only didn't have any medical qualifications but had no credibility in any measured way. Third rate television identities, actors, breakfast show hosts, politicians who nobody had heard of beforehand (remember Australian Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner) and even tattooed drag queens.
