  1. I don't think the problem is with the guy. The official definition of a "genocide" is more restrictive than what may people think. And it's not about whether a crime hits the ceiling of horror or not; it's a precise type of action. For example, if I'm not mistaken, ethnic cleansing is not genocide if the unwanted population is expelled rather than killed. BUT ethnic cleansing is recognized as a crime nevertheless. I'm pretty sure some of the Russian army's crimes in Ukraine would qualify for crime against Humanity. For genocide? maybe, but the relevance of this precision is limited imho. It's just technical. A crime is a crime.
