If Israel would just give equal citizenship with the Palestinians and form a state with equal rights for all, you would see a lot less conflation. Forming your country around a religion tends to have the effect you hate.

@blackeyedsusan727 No double standard. How do you think I reached that conclusion? From other countries that defined their country by religion, past and present including Arab countries. It tends to define the religion because it's state sponsored at that point.

The FBI issue with sensitive information is interesting. It's amazing what you can do by just changing an opt out system to opt in. Opt out puts the onus on you to make sure you don't access something, which the majority of people won't do. But Opt in flips that, and only those that want to access something would have the incentive to go thru the steps to opt in. AI companies stealing all our data could learn from this and change their opt out systems to opt in.

Both have agency to end the crisis but two issues for us Democrats. First, I don't know if you know this but terrorist typically don't do what people say. Israel learned this when they cynically supported and kept Hamas in power for over 2 decades. Pakistan is realizing this after cynically supporting the Taliban to keep India in check and now they have issues with Afghanistan. The second is we aren't allies with Hamas, only Israel, so we have an obligation to call Israel out. You have the same problem Biden has. You don't want to change your stance even if it costs Biden the election. Good luck to you and Biden with that position.

@blackeyedsusan727 Look Israel can do whatever they want without American money and our UN veto. But as they aren't doing that currently, I think they should give Palestinians equal rights if they don't want a 2 state solution. As far as Arab countries, I'm not in the business of telling other countries what to do if they aren't using our UN veto or having us build an iron dome for them and keeping it supplied. I don't recommend what Arab states do that enshrine religion in their government but some don't like that we don't directly elect our president and that's undemocratic. Let us run our country how we see fit and others that aren't dependent on the US can too. It's not about double standards, it's about me looking out for American interests. A war in the middle East weakens America, not strengthens it. That can not stand.

@Bertinator-nm9ld Oh no, I know it's intentional by tech companies, I just like the FBI example because it shows intentional or unintentional, opt out is a bad deal. So when tech companies offer it as a solution, we should be wary of why they can't just offer opt in. Right now, everyone is kind of accepting opt out from these companies and there will be long term profound consequences if we as a society just accept this option. There's other problems with tech companies that need to be sorted for AI to work for humanity, not just tech companies. But this cuts at who controls our data.
