@antigonemerlin I mean you shouldn't have to read in Arabic to understand what's going on. Al Jazeera English is good, but everything pretty much is covered in American mainstream media. People need to learn to separate facts from opinions. Opinions might be left out to further political agendas, but facts, unless a source is heavily corrupt, they won't be left out. For instance you can hear in Arab media that 22 K Palestinians have been killed. And they might say these are war crimes. You might see in American media that 22 K Palestinians have been killed and this is because of Hamas and casualties die in wars, it's possible a lot of the dead are terrorists, and this war is vital for Israeli security. The 22 K Palestinians is a fact that neither denies. But how they interpret those numbers, that's an opinion. And you are free to come up with whatever opinion you want from those 22 K Palestinian deaths. And given my understanding of coverage in Israel, only media like that would not include facts like 22 K Palestinian deaths because they are Hamas numbers and they question the validity of those facts, which is highly corrupt and differs from Arab and American media.
If you can separate facts from opinions, you can understand pretty much about anything around the world from your own native news provided you have a big enough and relatively free media, which the US has.
