Godse himself was Follower and Admirer of Gandhi for many years, Till the point that Creation of Pakistan seemed inevitable. That was the moment he decidered Gandhi was in the wrong and that there was no point in following Gandhi's Ideology anymore. This is why Godse bowed down to Gandhi and took his blessings before asking him for forgiveness and then hesitantly shot him twice at close range. Many don't know that Dr Ambedkar approached Godse's brother and requested him that he would fight his case if needed in the court. But Godse rejected this, He accepted his crime and was adamant on getting a Death Sentence, Because he knew what he had commited very well and was ready to face the consequencs.
