It certainly wouldn't be pleasant.. We normally think Alien Civilizations would to be 100 - 500 years ahead of us. However, Most stars in our Galaxy are Billions of years older than our Sun so chances are that any Intelligent Civilization on these Stars would be Millions - Billions years ahead of us in Technology. It would be same as making contact with Super Gods, They would have technologies we could never even begin to imagine or comprehend.

If you look back and think about it, We haven't changed much over the past 1000 years. We are still stuck up with Loads of Primitive Inventions which need radical change. We need to invent some new shit and be like the Jet-sons >.< We still use : - Guns (Since past 1000 Years) - Rockets (We just Improved them but the concept of Fueled Propulsion remains the same) - Paper - The Wheel (For all our Terrestrial Transportation) - Construction (Buildings are still constructed in the almost same way)

@daberko120ch Doesn't it fascinate you to think of what our Civilization would have been if we had discovered an Alternative source of Power than Electricity ? Perhaps Using Solar Energy on a Large Scale to power everything we know of or some kind of new unknown form of energy which may be similar to Electricity but more unique. So, What I mean is, We have discovered a few stuff and simply improving on them instead of trying to diversify many ways of doing stuff. These are my thoughts :)

I don't agree. Infact, Our productivity will multiply if we tend to live forever. Our I.Q might go beyond the limit and say for instance if humans learnt to live in Cybernetic bodies for Infinity, We as a species will become so advanced in every aspect that we might eventually turn out to be like a Godly civilization that is all wise and knows everything about our Galaxy, If not our vast universe.

@daberko120ch Yes, I know all these Inventions have evolved a lot but the basic concept remains the same. What i meant was we could think of and invent new radical concepts like : - Sound Beams, Force Fields or Lasers as Practical Offensive or Defensive weapons of Modern warfare - Any Method to make written data obsolete by Storing and recording Memory in our Brains - Teleportation, AntiGravity technology for transportation - Construction of Houses on Land, Sea and Floating ones in the Air etc

The Later half of this Century will just be mind blowing. Research is under-way in Nano Technology, Genetics, Teleportation, Invisibility, Shape Shifting, Light weapons, Star ships and Nuclear Fusion. Imagine what we could make combining all these ideas :o

@Gufberg Terrorism is when something is imposed on you by force. Comparing them to a Growing modern trend of Cultural influences is a bad example. There is nothing that is imposing Fashion, Rock n Roll or Rap music on you by force, You always have a choice to dislike music or not wear any Fashion that you dislike. Try the same thing in Saudi Arabia or Iran and they would Flog you to death, This is what he meant by Terrorism, aka Forcefully imposing something on you by Terror and Fear.
