  1. It certainly wouldn't be pleasant.. We normally think Alien Civilizations would to be 100 - 500 years ahead of us. However, Most stars in our Galaxy are Billions of years older than our Sun so chances are that any Intelligent Civilization on these Stars would be Millions - Billions years ahead of us in Technology. It would be same as making contact with Super Gods, They would have technologies we could never even begin to imagine or comprehend.
