You are partly right about the language being revived. Greek was spoken continuously, but Ancient features were reintroduced. You are right about the Ancient Greek identity being revived, but this was a process which started roughly by the time the Cyrillic alphabet was created in the upper classes and was spread to the lower classes by the end of the 18th century, Otto would be born 35-45 years after the intensification of the process in the lower classes. I believe you are right about Arvanitika being the main language in Athens, which was a small settlement that time.
