This videos showed what happened in Greece. A country where the vast majority of people feel no greater affinity to the rest of Europe than to the Arabs. It's the country that unites the East with the West, and you must realise that the Europeans in the region are closer to Turks than to Germans culturally and genetically.

I'd say that even religiously Greek Orthodoxy is closer to Turkish Islam than to Catholicism, even early Islam was heavily influenced by Eastern Christianity. Physiologically they are also very similar, you usually can't tell a Greek and a Western Turk apart, but I don't know how this is important.

A minority of Turkish DNA is from Central Asia and genetically they are generally close to Greeks. The Eastern Church had many currents. Have you ever heard that Mohammad mixed Judaism, Christianity and Arabic traditions to create Islam, well, the "Christianity" part was a mix of Eastern currents which in a lot of ways makes Islam very similar to Orthodoxy.

Don't bring Western politics here. Greece is unique. It isn't caught up in this hate storm in the West, people treat refugees as refugees. Greece took more refugees than any European country while having many problems of its own.

Greece pays more taxes than any country in the EU. There are 60% income taxes. And where does that money go? To Germany mostly.

Greece is in the EU with countries that are supposed to be allies yet they force Greece to implement programs they know will destroy its economy. Schäuble was asked if he would sign the deal the lenders proposed, he said he wouldn't out of patriotism. Lagarde was asked once if the deal viable, she said it wasn't, she was also asked in a formal meeting, she tried to avoid the question, but she ended up again saying the deal wasn't viable, before being interrupted by Dijsselbloem basically saying to the Greek representative "Sign it or we will close your banks.". Greece is forced to have such a surplus that law abiding people have the Greek government tell them that they owe money they don't, and if they want to take the situation to court they have to pay half of what is claimed, most people can't, so they have their houses taken from them. It leads many thinking "Why was I paying taxes and wasting to much time of my life making sure I was honest to the government, when I am being punished anyway?".
