Um, we used to have one. It was called the Fairness Doctrine. It was undone in the Reagan administration and that is the sole reason how and why Fox News exists. Roger Ailes was Nixon's Goering. He went on with Rupert Murdoch to set the norm for fake news. They are where it all began.

@jld12er30 Are you aware of the two pending lawsuits against Fox and several of their hosts for lying and slander? A judge recently ruled that there is plenty of evidence for the lawsuits to proceed.
