Theft by the retailers...or the customers? How much does exorbitant CEO salary add to cost?

tracktrocq 1965, CEO:average worker = 20:1 2021, CEO:average worker = 399:1 Most of CEO pay is in stock options which are taxed at a much lower rate than the average worker pays. Nice to have a politician or two in your pocket.

tracktrocq Average CEO compensation in 2021 was $27.8 million. That's just the CEO. The entire upper echelon of management is grossly overpaid.

@Rathkryn Who just gave billionaires and corporations the largest tax cuts ever (while adding the cost to the national debt)? Was it Joe Biden and the Democrats? CEO pay has not risen 20 times what it was in 1965 (proportionally) because the job has become 20 times harder. It has risen mainly due to reciprocal benchmarking. CEO A's pay is based more on what CEO B is making, than any increase in duties. In fact, due to extra layering of management over the years, I can make the case the duties have actually decreased. Taxes are paid based on earnings (although the capital gains are taxed much lower). This overused and under-explained maga that everyone blathers about...what time period do you think of? 1950s? 90% top end rate. Early 1960s? Same 90%. And at the same time, a single worker could bring home enough for a family of 4 and own a home. Today? Nah, greed is taking us down. I've been around longer than a week. I know who the party of and for the corporations is, it is and always has been the GOP.

@goldbud2287 Modern corporations are run more like the old Soviet Union. Not democratic, very top down in rules and anything good ends up at the top. Privatize profits and socialize the costs. Hell, there's still walmart employees who qualify for foodstamps and medicaid.

Your body, your choice. Say it loud and proud! Where's all the giddy excitement around the Dobbs decision gone?
