We dumped over $5 trillion into a stagnant US economy beginning in April 2020. It didn't take a rocket scientist (nor an economist) to foresee what would happen next.

I agree that Trump knows much about balls.

@feffygracie Trump had two relief bills. And I have no clue why Biden felt the need to follow with another. We should have done none of them and suffered the pains throughout, rather than suffer the inflation. The markets would have reset accordingly and people would have been more likely to return to work. Put that much money into the hands of the public and it will surely be vacuumed back by inflationary pressures. And one of our biggest issues is the shrinkage of the free market by allowing mega-corporations. Lacking competition, the few who remain are free to charge what they wish. We did this to ourselves. Always running to Mega-Mart to save 5 cents cost us the competition which would help us now.

@feffygracie I am antagonistic to Fox lies. It is corrosive to America. I love my country and can pinpoint the date at which it began to get unreasonable. Right after Fox went on the air. Read some context on Ailes and how and why he wanted a "Fox". It wasn't for the good of the country.

@feffygracie I do the same over coffee. But I learned years ago to fact check everything I hear on Fox. They are quite adept at showing only as much information as they need to in order to continue their narrative. They love to leave out context. "Woke nonsense" is a good name for what you see on Fox. There is and always has been "buzz ideas" which people talk about and which I realized long ago affect my own life little. Fox loves the culture wars because they identified ways to divide Americans into camps in order to better control a market. After you read up on Ailes, I suggest you read up on Murdoch. Did you know he was instrumental in electing the Australian PM whose main platform was single-payer healthcare? It's the system they have now. Murdoch a socialist??? Nah, he's just a run-of-the-mill meglomaniac.

@dennisg4053 Boy, your post is just loaded with alternative facts. $5 trillion? That was the talking point, but reality was under $1 trillion. Don't believe me, the actual numbers are available. The TCJA did not pay for itself. The CBO showed the returns peaked in late 2018 and fell off a cliff in late 2019....well before the pandemic. No president "picks" his crises, we judge on how they deal with them. The crisis of 2020 was flubbed. Throwing money at it in April 2020 was a feel-good sugar high. Then they did it again in November and then Biden did it again in February. There's your inflation. There's your hesitation in returning to work.
