@ninjajack5568 Your third paragraph sums the likely culprit in this particular case. Everyone and their brother has been/was pushed towards areas of projected growth/job creation at once. And then the market saturates. And this has been ongoing for decades. Add to that the fact that students often look at rosy forecasts when career shopping and make decisions based on high wage projections. I worked in education for decades and worked to stop 25 year old "guidance counselors" from pushing every student into the same programs. Your comment about living near the border were a pure "pfeels" addition.

@joeb1522 A question about corporations passing on taxes as an increase in price: if this is true, why was there no corresponding drop in prices when the tax rates were cut precipitously?

@andrewyp6724 Lockdowns with money handed out like candy. Fewer products produced, lots of people with lots of cash to spend and time on their hands to do just that. And then things reopen, people start back to work.
