Gotta admit though that cops generally favor protecting businesses over protecting citizens. Go to any Walmart to see at least two cop cars permanently planted in their lot. Walmart even demarcates a dedicated parking spot.

@Kim-sq9gp It's true, Kim. My own small city has two (!!!) APCs converted for SWAT use. They have many other pieces of decommissioned military equipment. We used to have cops at coffee shops, doughnut shops and walking beats. Now they are separated from the people they serve by the wall of equipment.

@joelamer6300 Off duty cops who wear their uniforms and drive their police vehicles? That's just privatizing the police. They are still officers whether they're paid by Walmart or the city. They can still detain and arrest no matter who is paying for the service.
