I love how she highlights exactly why EOs are not a solution and then breezes right past. Laws created by Congress are solutions.

@ZacharySkipworth He already said he'd sign the border and immigration law. Try again.

@ZacharySkipworth Wrong and wrong. Stop taking talking points and do a bit of your own research. Read the exact wording of the bill. Find out for yourself what the language used in the bill actually means. An encounter is not an entry. Your 1.8 million number means nothing. Goalposts have not moved once.

@ZacharySkipworth The Constitution requires that a decennial census determine an enumeration of the "whole number of persons" living within the US. The founders could have used the term "citizens" but chose to not use it. The number is used to determine congressional apportionment. Don't like it? Speak with your representative about a Constitutional amendment.

@ZacharySkipworth You have obviously not read, or perhaps you do not understand what that bill could have done. There's good reason why the Trump supporting Border Control Agents Union supported the bill. EOs are pretty useless, Congressionally created laws are much stronger.

@ZacharySkipworth And the real shame of all of this is that we actually had a bipartisan bill which could have been a start to an even stronger and more permanent solution to these migrations which threaten to worsen over time. Now let's imagine that Trump does get elected: he slaps a few EOs into place and Congress ignores further action. His term expires and the next president in line voids the EOs and we're back where we started. So all we've accomplished is kicking the can four years down the road. That is not a solution.

@ZacharySkipworth What I will never understand is the idea of "my way or nothing at all". Any bill passed onto the president for signature will always require bipartisan support. No one party can bum-rush all of their desires through Congress. The proposed bill was many months of negotiated bipartisan agreement shot down for the one simple reason we all understand.
