Executive actions are worth exactly what you so clearly stated. They are not laws and can be ended by the next guy. Congress writes laws, not the Chief Executive. How can you not understand this?

The reason Fox and the GOP has lost credibility is that they screamed for 6 years about Obama writing executive orders because crypt-keeper McConnell blocked all bills. They said nary a word when Trump did the same when blocked by Schumer. Now their great idea for new action on the border? Executive action. Congress writes laws. Laws should not be created by the Chief Executive. That would lead us towards the type of governance we revolted against in 1776.

Executive actions are an end-around Congressional power and lead us towards the type of governance we revolted against in 1776. One man (especially one elected to a four year term) should not have that kind of power.

@BillyColeII-dr6dk Because it was not a law, it was simply an executive order. He immediately called on Congress in February 2021 to write border security and immigration laws. They finally did, but the process was derailed by the GOP candidate (and Fox) because he needed a platform issue. Congress writes laws, not the Chief Executive.

@opossumsrawesome6860 Please refer to the Constitution to better understand how bills become laws. The House and Senate must concur on a bill before it is sent to the president.
