In 2017-18, Republicans held the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives.
Their priority was not funding a border wall, nor healthcare reform, nor infrastructure.
The single most impacting accomplishment during that time was the TCJA. It was said, at the time, that the TCJA would drive GDP up to between 5 and 6 points per annum. It raised the GDP .1 by CBO estimates. It added $2.5 trillion (and rising) to the national debt. So, they cut the income to the federal government, surely they must have made corresponding reductions to operating expenses too, right?
Nope. The 2018 budget was bigger and badder than ever.
The GOP remembers their fiscally conservative chops only when the Democrats are in control.
