@carladahlquist2152 My (ex) next door neighbor became a junkie. As a highschool soccer player, she tore up her knee and was immediately prescribed opiates. She got hooked and then cut off from prescriptions. She turned to heroin and other drugs. She's ODed a couple of times that I know of and has been clean for periods of time. Hard to see her go from athlete to homeless junkie. And the Sacklers still have their billions.

Consider how much we spend on "the war on drugs" versus drug rehabilitation. They're going after a symptom of the problem rather than the root of the problem.
