  1. "There's no reason for any country to drop nuclear bombs." That's like saying there's no reason for war to exist. Naive idealism. Whether it was the US or another country, someone was eventually going to reach the finish line of the nuclear arms race first. Now, there are nine countries that are armed with nukes. It's understandable that Japan didn't want to provide a theatrical release of the film because of the magnitude of the destruction, but at the same time, it's a historical event that happened. Eventually, it will release on streaming services and the Japanese will be able to watch it. Whitewashing history is never a good idea whether it be through a partisan spin or with censorship. You have to be willing to recount both the good and the bad.
