"The restrictions in China are too extensive. They hinder creative freedom." How many points on his social credit score did he lose from making that statement?
"And as for the censorship, all I can say is the media all engage in selective reporting." Censorship ≠ media bias. The US isn't restricting information accessibility in the same way that China's Great Firewall does.
"Trembling and tottering." Sleepy Joe's doddering incompetency must be causing Xi to salivate over Taiwan, I bet.
"How many genders are there again?" While the US fixates on fabricated pronouns, China is building hypersonic missiles... really demonstrates the priorities of each respective country.
"...your identity naturally brings you privilege." That's the beauty of the Oppression Olympics. Intersectionality as the basis of hiring instead of merit.
"...it's undermining history." Virtue signalling is the current social fad in the US. Corporations bending over backwards in the name of wokeness.
"In the US, you can't make certain statements about Jews or Nazi Germany during WWII." Umm, pretty sure that's permissible under the First Amendment.
TikTok is a private company, so banning it wouldn't technically infringe on the First Amendment, even though it's become one of many de facto online public squares.
"I believe that freedom of speech is contingent upon whether you have caused harm." According to who? Who gets to define what constitutes "harm"? And therein lies the problem. Hurting someone's feelings is not grounds for chilling speech in a free republic.
"If you exercise free speech, you could be detained." Brave grandma, but maybe it would've been wise to blur her face for her own safety.
"It's (censoring speech is) unavoidable, any government would do this." Any nanny state with authoritarian proclivities would do this, you mean.
"They say it (TikTok) impacts the US government, but that's just their own perception." It's just a perception that TikTok has a backdoor that leaks user data to the CCP?
"But China is peaceful." Not if Daddy Xi annexes Taiwan, bucko. ;)
