Please remember that the next "day" starts at sundown of the day before, so Winter Night's should start on the 19th and go through the 21st. The full moon is on the 20th, but I agree with others that the three nights of "full moons" would be the day before and the day after the actual full moon, because both those days/nights are the 98-99% moons before dropping down to around 96% full.

@Karina-Loves-Andreas This festival is on the full moon, so it changes every year. Ancient Germanic Heathens used a lunisolar calendar and did not have set days like October 31st for example. They went by the full moons and new moons. This year it is on October 20th, next year will be a different day. Hope that helps!

In the ancient times there were only two seasons: summer and winter. So winter was October through March, and Summer was March through October. Hope that helps.

@Karina-Loves-Andreas For some reason youtube does not allow me to post outside links, only youtube links, otherwise I would send you direct links. I'm sure you can find the pages yourself, but if not, let me know how to reach you and I can send you direct links.

@HeathenDance Aliens? Oh boy. I believe they exist. I doubt we are the only beings in all the universe. But have they visited here? I'm not sure it would be a good thing if they did. Unless our atmosphere didn't work out for them. If they can get here, they can probably annihilate us all and that would suck. And you are right, I know a lot of the Germans were Christian, but their own version of Christianity. I remember reading about that a bit. And I don't care how "evil" people think the swastika is, it's one of the best logos I've ever seen, especially in the red, black, and white. Just sucks it is forever associated with hatred. But glad to know the original swastikas belonged to most animistic tribal cultures and religions long before this type of hatred existed.

It wasn't really Halloween. It was a sacrifice and festival in October, so people might try to lump it in with Halloween.

@alchemicalalek7535 If I remember correctly without looking it up, I believe Halloween's origins stemmed from Samhain and the Celts culture/religion, not the Germanic/Nordic tribes. Same thing with today's Wicca and witch beliefs. So sure, if we go back far enough, the Celts and Germans were one people, but not during the time we cite for these festivals and celebrations.

@HeathenDance Sorry. I realize I replied to you from my other account. Oops! Anyways, yeah, we were all one People/Tribe before branching off into the Celts and Germani. And you are correct on the swastika. I was a Hindu monk for 12 years and we had the swastika in our Vedic culture as well. It was taught that our religion was the oldest in the world still being practiced today. We were taught the Aryan People were a people from North of India who were basically "born enlightened" and thus considered very spiritually advanced. I remember being taught that Hitler took our swastika and reversed the direction of the "arms" to make them go in the other direction. The swastika in Vedanta culture symbolized the four-headed demi-god Lord Brahma (god of creation), as well as the four directions (N, S, E, W). I love studying ancient history. I'm in college right now working on my degree.
