Speaking of trees, I asked for evergreen trees for Christmas from my Christian family. They bought me two Colorado Blue Spruces, one White Pine, and one Serbian Spruce. I have an area of our homestead that I call "Northland" and it is all evergreens. So these will be planted to create a natural privacy fence in Northland to keep the neighbors and cars from watching me relax out there. This is my "sacred space" or my grove where I spend my time reading and pondering the history of our Heathen ancestors while keeping warm at the fire pit. I have a huge heavy stone on my land that I will need tractor equipment to move. It probably weighs a ton or more. It is a nice big flat stone, so that will become the foundation for my horgr. But yeah, these new trees are about 6 feet tall so far. I read they grow a foot a year, so I guess they are 5 or 6 years old. But that's all I wanted for Christmas, and I wanted trees more than anything. I'm so happy. I plan to add new evergreens and oaks each year. I'm also looking into how to grow all sorts of trees myself. We already have probably 25 maples and 2-3 birch trees, plus plum, apple, cherry, peach, and pear trees. Oh, and my Northland consists of very tall Norwegian Spruce trees. They're amazing! And crazy that we live in a long white house (Great Hall) on White Hall Road, and the trees are Norwegian. So many connections. It's like we were meant to buy this house! So glad we did. Living the dream out here in Amish country.
