It also doesnt hurt that all the other media outlets you mentioned are absolute corporatist garbage- The one thing FNC certainly has its a remarkable sense of (albeit crude and nonsensical) charm, that entertains in the same sense that the telitubees would amuse a child. As a classical conservative, i can assure you, if this is what you base your political ideology, you have not the slightest clue what conservatism truly is in the modern world, outside the small microcosm that is America.

If your for the reduction of government specifically through government institutions, you are Libertarian, which is not strictly speaking, conservative(that is what Ron Paul is) - (FYI: Classical Conservatism is otherwise commonly known as Traditionalism, what you are, as you describe yourself, is Neo-conservative, post-Nixon in the US) Take a political theory class at your local community college and then come back and talk. Otherwise, just google this stuff, its not hard to find on wikipedia

There are large differences between Moderate Conservatives, Centrist Conservatives, Neo-Conservatives (you), Paleo-Conservatives and Classical or Traditional Conservatives.

  10. If you consider yourself a Bush conservative, that in and of itself reduces your credibility to nothing. The failed policies of an aspired and failed Reagan (who was a fail himself in his own right) make for a poor political philosophy indeed.
