  1. Ponzi social programs is a quite the exaggeration, and i'm not advocating more white collar jobs, but an investment into infrastructure. Look at the history of the EU following WW2, from post apocalyptic destruction to 20 trillion in GDP, thats quite a reversal. Infrastructure is long lasting and you can't really loose on if the services it provides are effective. That doesnt mean you cant be fiscal irresponsible either, naturally.

  2. That was the whole idea of the leverage, the general notion (i gather) was that this was so horrid (he believed) for both parties, that the opposition would be great enough to stop it. I differ to think that he greatly underestimated apathy and incompetence of congress. Why do i come to this conclusion you ask? Because even if Obama is a Corporatist shill, public opinion against unemployment and low wages is just to obvious. If i were a corporatist, i'd go for more deregulation, and loopwholes

  3. spending isnt the problem, it is a systemic result of unemployment, which the sequester will only aide to deepen. And it has nothing to do with "rethinking the basic role of governance" thats just a loaded phrase that amounts to nothing. Look at the rest of the western world, and America can find excellent examples of how to run a nation. It isnt as though it were some great mystery.

  6. lol, well look i'm not saying i have all the answers, and without destroying the constitution? I honestly cant say. America is so inflexible on that subject, i couldnt readily suggest an alternative without major structural changes. You did mention what country in europe has a federal system, and Germany does, in fact, both are remarkably similar, i'd take tips from them for starters.

  7. you'd have to cite info on spain, as for france, although unemployment continues to stagger down slowly, granted, our Debt (which i believe, from your own statements, is your main point of contention) is rapidly decreasing, and in fact, is on track to disappear i believe (though dont quote me, sorry i couldnt find the source) by 2020. And if you believe taxing doesn't work, what does? If your going to cite Reagan, your going to have a bad time, as thats where the problem of deregulation began.

Again, i would contend if you account for the infulence and power of the European Union, which is an incredibly important factor in any European countries politics, you couldnt be further from the truth. When you look at the overlap of treaties, constituitions, regulations, international oversight, and lets no forget, the national and departmental administrations, its nearly unfathomable to make coherent sense of.

  11. Germany is firmly committed to the Euro- its called Solidarity, in fact, if anything, i think thats one the tips the US could take from the European Union. And what do you purpose we cut?... i'd be happy to see oil subsidies and corporate loopwholes cut to make way for schools and research to be invested in.
