  1. Exactly! NOT a thing about Jesus. Christmas is mainly a cultural and universal secular event now.

  2. America's favorite holiday is Halloween. They may spend more money at xmas time but by the time 12/26 rolls around people are over being saturated with 40 days of the nonstop push to buy, trite and garish decorations, and the constant piped in carols everywhere. That is probably why Boxing Day isn't a thing in the U.S. Christmas as a religious holiday is a minority celebration here.

  3.  @butterfly23faith84  I'm merely stating the obvious. I like and participate in some parts of the holiday, despite being a Buddhist for 55 years.

  4. @gy2gy246  What service jobs WWI didn't wipe out, WWII did. Part-time help was more common after that.
