I can see the applications of super tall structures in normal-G or normal height structures in high-G environments being pretty critical in space (planet) colonisation. Perhaps it would even be possible to build high altitude launch platforms using lattice structures to enable SCRAM technology launch vehicles to achieve LEO or GEOO and replace rocketry as the primary methodology?
