I totally agree with this perspective of the military use of guns. What about the civilian use of guns to make life better? I grew up in America around dozens of guns, as children we went hunting and target practicing. In High School, many of the students had guns in their vehicles in gun racks and pistols in the glove box. This was no secret. We don't fear guns nor do we cower from violent criminals. Guns here prevent far more crime than they cause because the overwhelming number of people who own them are good people with good intentions.

@hayrotheguye7511 Ya you're right it's much better in Communist China and North Korea where no citizens are allowed to protect themselves.

@Philosopherus I was a cop for 18 years and never once did I need to point or fire my gun at a human being. Most crime is a failure of consequences, social and criminal. Crime is not a matter of need. We have a huge welfare net here that fosters and coddles the crime culture. People who have nothing to lose are dangerous. They are parasites on society while the rest of us pay for everything.
