zaxx19 Assumptions and contradictions, you mock "public servants" and praise those parasites who won't work and live off the tax dollar, hypocrisy . Liberals love to group people "you guys" "brown people" "rich people" "poor people"etc etc. Your racist leanings blind you to what is good and right about America. Once we start dividing ourselves as Black Americans, White Americans , Mexican Americans etc. it creates division and strife. America as it was intended is supposed to be a melting pot so my black neighbor would feel more bonded to me and our city than another person with the same skin color a thousand miles away. And I would feel the same way about injustice against a person of different color anywhere especially a fellow American.
For the past decade I've owned my own business, pay my contractors up to $12,000 a week, worth every penny to our customers. I believe economics should always be viewed from the consumer's point of view. If a person is valuable to society they will be paid accordingly in a free market encouraging more to be valuable. Our system of crony capitalism, corrupt unions, and outrageous lawsuits is a disservice to consumers and the working man and woman.
You mention education and I agree everyone should have a good publicly funded basic education. The bureaucratic mess we have now is more about politicians and teachers unions than educating children. I advocate for a voucher system and open free market private schools like colleges. Parents of poor children could send their children to any school of their choosing and competition would ensure a results oriented program judged by local and national testing. The last thing I want is poor children staying uneducated.
Higher Education should be more affordable not subsidized. I liked the college atmosphere and traditions but that is not education. Weekend and online courses should be encouraged by potential employers , maybe some sort of sponsorship system encouraged by tax breaks.
Finally on immigration, legal immigration. Shouldn't new immigrants be productive members of society, valuable to American consumers filling a need and purpose in return for self esteem and cohesiveness to their new chosen society?
I don't care what color you are or where you came from if your going to be an American then be an American, be productive and valuable to your community. "Judge others by the content of their character not the color of their skin." MLK
