Well, at this point, at least 90% of what the federal government does is unconstitutional, so reversing course is an impossibility. The majority of Americans favor big government, and are ignorant of/apathetic to the debt, so the outrageous spending continues.

@bricaaron3978 my method is more restrictive than yours. I say you pay $100 tax, you get 100 votes. You pay $1 million, you get 1 million votes. I'm not sure about the feminism part, but social welfare seemed to begin shortly after women got the right to vote. They are the driving force behind government handouts.

@bricaaron3978 I didn't mention that, but I've given it a lot of thought. Clearly there are issues with one man, one vote. Perhaps we should get votes in proportion to how much taxes we pay.

@bricaaron3978 I agree with your last statement. As for land taxes, wealthy people own the majority of the land, so they would still pay the majority of the taxes. That was also true in the 18th century, so the Founding Fathers were knowingly excluding many people from the vote. In today's society, is a homeowner considered a landowner? Some would say no, since they have to pay property taxes in perpetuity. My argument, right or wrong, is more about a person's say in government being proportional to the amount of tax they pay.
