  1. Naxalite movement in Bengal was crushed by then CM of West Bengal late Siddharth Shankar Ray ( Yes , a protege of late Indira Gandhi ) . He was the one to give a free hand to the army and police officers to get rid of the scourge of Naxalites . West Bengal is still paying the economical price till today as flourishing industries closed shop and fled .
