Elon Musk is overdramatizing the situation. Sure a declining birthrate can be bad for the economy, but Japan consists of 126m people. They won't all dissapear in 50 years just because of birthrate. And there are many issues Japan has regarding high population. The homes are too small, there's not enough space and so on. If Japan's population shrinks let's say to 80 million this could solve issues like that. I think life has cycles and Japan is on the declining phase of this cycle. Maybe in 50 years the cycle will turn again and Japan with thrive once more. I don't believe Japan's existence is threatened. It went through worse stuff. From medieval times to WW2 and it survived. And I doubt the government would let the Japanese population shrink to the point of them being eradicated

6:28 some say this is due to the patriarchy enforcing old stereotypes and in this case it hurts men. I don't know if it has anything to do with patriarchy or not, but this way of thinking is honestly toxic and should go away. A man's worth isn't measured according to how many girlfriends or how much sex he had and a woman's worth isn't measured on if she is fertile or not. Having children sure can contribute to society, but there are countless other ways to become worthy and to contribute to society. ~26 year old virgin from the west!

@botnet3201 Yes, in that I totally agree. This globalization is indeed dangerous and it's saddening me as well when I see children not able to speak their native language properly and countries losing their cultural identities

@earlysda I hope you are not referring to me. Cause in that case I would be eager to hear your counter arguments
