  3.  @brutalinferno8638  Correct but there were Bantu tribes in the regions that were later cleared during the Mfecane. There is also good archaeological evidence from studies in mining sites that there were settlements occupied by people of Niger - Congo Delta origin up to 3500 years ago. Many of these settlements were abandoned at some point for whatever reason - internal or external warfare, invasion, famine, epidemics etc.
