  1. Some "safety" devices are overkill, and hence not respected. Does anybody still have the "engine shuts off if you try to reverse your riding mower with blade running"? Pitiful. If you overdo anything, people discount them, making things worse. Could go on, won't.

  2.  @catman9186  All of the shows I watch that do auto restorations have a shop dog. Often a friendly pit bull. Used to have a doberman. Once went around back of house to basement. He was in front of house. Scary, until he recognized me. That friendly pit bull isn't going to be so friendly at 3AM.
