  27.  @iitn8437  India has not given a date for becoming Carbon Neutral which most of Europe has commited to. India needs to develop alternate clean energy systems to keep its development. Blaming others won't help as the emissions from most European countries are just a fraction of what India produces. Has Indian government done anything to make people move away from using cars or following the western capitalist model? Why has Indian government given licences to Vedanta etc to plunder virgin forests. America should be a lesson of what should not be done and not that since US has done it, India should also do it. India will face more challenges with Global warming than US.

  28.  @shivamjuneja3597  It is not the question of developing or developed. It is the question of the quantity of emissions. If you are one of the countries, that is responsible for large emissions, you should control it. Developing countries are going to be more affected by emissions and climate change than developed countries. Why does developing countries then participate and sign these agreements. Developing countries do not mean, they are poor. If they can spend 3% of their GDP on defence budget, they should be able to put 1% of their budget for combating climate change.

You cannot achieve carbon neutrality without producing clean energy and renewables. 60% of energy in India is produced from Coal, which most other countries have stopped completely. Why talk about brazil, while India has lost 5% of forests in the last 20 years.

  34.  @iitn8437  Every country can have excuses. Why India do not engage in diplomacy? Indian defence spending have gone up in the last 10 years so much, wherease India always had these neighbours and had wars with them before. What about new parliament building, planes for PM etc that increases emissions. If there is a will there is a way. Let India show it by example and then ask others. Countries in Europe has done more than enough and has taken steps to ban non electric vehicles. Nuclear power is not the only solution to clean energy, India has abundant rivers, good sunlight and wind more than all of Europe combined. Solar and Wind energy are now the cheapest sources of energy . India is neither a free nor a fair or open market even though it may be better than China.

When it comes to GDP again they want to compare with UK GDP and not per capita. Also cannot use number of people residing in a country as the country could be a manufacturing hub,
