  1. Aaaah yes, the good old days of Obetrol and Desoxyn....Preludin was still available in the early 70s. Then there was dinitrophenol....if you survived it you sure did lose weight! You described it's discovery quite well - it was an intermediate in the production of picric acid, which is a little easier to make than TNT, so it was used despite it's tendency to react with metals forming picrate salts, some of which are quite sensitive, leading to accidental detonation, not a desirable situation. It was phased out after WW I. Nice video, thank you kindly. Cheers...
