  1. Many great sci fi stories included either solar light mirroring or more commonly power from solar panels in orbit converted to microwave and beamed to rectennas on Earth (rectennas = antennas that convert microwave to electrical energy). The usual sci fi scenarios usually included the microwave beam drifting off target and incinerating towns, cities, etc....dunno how realistic that would be but it made for great space opera.
