The US needs to show it's doing something since both the US and Russia have demanded Ukraine to disarm its nuclear bombs in exchange for a territorial integrity guarantee. Russia already backtracked its agreement with Ukraine's territorial integrity. Trump has a solution, allow countries like Ukraine to be armed with their own nukes and reduce US defense treaty obligations.
