  1. This is the contrast between BGC proper and the surrounding neighborhoods. You will find many contrasting neighborhoods like that in the Philippines with neighborhoods for the wealthiest people and right across are the low/working class income neighborhoods. Btw, those aren't the slums, just low or working class income neighborhoods. Many of the workers servicing BGC live there (they sure cannot afford a flat in BGC which can cost $500 up to over $2000+ USD per month). BGC supplies the workers with jobs while the wealthy foreigners and residents of BGC (mostly wealthy OFWs or businessmen) supplies the workers with their wages. These contrasting neighborhoods are the effect of severe income inequality and disparity in the Philippines.
